The Company

Family-run business JK Timber is an independent timber merchant that has been serving the trade since 1989. It is a specialist in timber and sheet material.

The problem

As a small timber merchant, JK Timber had not invested in eCommerce, so when the pandemic hit, they struggled to cope with orders arriving by email and over the phone.

We needed a solution to be in place quickly that would help us carry on trading efficiently. That is why we contacted eCommonSense who have been brilliant in hearing our story and then putting in place a record-breaking implementation which I think will get us in a great position

Sam chitta, managing director

The Solution

A new website built on the eCommonSense platform was launched in record time with just a few weeks between signing a contract and going live. JK Timber decided to go live with an unintegrated solution for the sake of speed but the intention is to fully integrate with their trading system so that they can take advantage of the full functionality.

The Benefits

After just a few months the number of sales taken online reduced the pressure on email and phone orders and kept the company trading.
